Rogaland is a solo engineering business — I'd rather explain that plainly than pretend otherwise.

I'm James Rogalski, and I run Rogaland out of Hervey Bay, Queensland. I build and maintain the products under the Rogaland name myself — Northing and Heron Hire — along with client software work for people who need a Django application built properly and looked after once it's live.

My background is in software engineering, and it shows in how these products are built: sensible data models, tests that actually run, infrastructure I understand end to end because I set it up myself. Nothing here is outsourced to a template or a no-code builder, including this site.

Rogaland exists because the gap between "a working prototype" and "software a business can actually depend on" is where most projects go wrong. That's the gap I work in — for my own products and for client projects alike.
